Old Bromleians have submitted plans to the London Borough of Bromley for approval of a renovation and extension to the existing club house at Scrubs Farm.
The proposal is part of the clubs long terms plans to move the club up the football pyramid and reflects the big strides made on the playing side over the last 15 months.
The proposed extension is intended to provide improved changing facilities which meet modern Sport England and FA Standards. It will also provide facilities for female facilities such that the club can achieve its desire to be fully inclusive.
As well as providing better changing facilities the proposals will provide more facilities, this will enable more games to be played at the ground and thereby reduce the reliance on satellite facilities such as Ravensbourne School which is both cost efficient but by playing more games at the club’s own facilities the community spirit is enhanced.
The clubs intention is that the project is split into two phases, at opposite ends of the existing building, to aid with both funding and construction. At the west end of the building, the club currently has one large changing room, four small changing rooms and a communal shower and toilet block. Under the new proposal this will be modified to provide two category B changing rooms, each with integral showers and toilet facilities. This will also enable toilet facilities to be modified in the main bar area, to provide separation between players and those using the bar/hall facilities. The second phase at the east end of the existing club house, is a more ambitious and substantial undertaking. The club is proposing to extend the club house to provide two further category B changing rooms, with integral showers and toilet facilities. Two referees changing rooms will be provided and the kitchen will moved and upgraded in order that it can provide refreshments to spectators and players. The existing veranda will be refurbished and extended to follow the profile of the extended building and provide a sheltered facility for spectators to watch the games on the main pitch.
